What does it take to run a strong, successful real estate investment business? I would say it is no different than any other business when starting out-Attitude & Education! Whether you are a new investor or a seasoned investor, maintaining a strong positive attitude is key. Being out on the frontline looking for deals, talking to many people, negotiating deals, getting deals to close, sometimes it can be very frustrating and it's easy to get "down". It is important that you work on yourself on a daily basis to insure that you are positive and confident as deals present themselves. Let me ask you something. How many times a day do you eat? WHY? Don't you eat 3-4 tiimes a day because your body needs to replenish energy. Well your mind and attitude are exactly the same. They need a daily input of mental nutrition. How do you do that? Read, watch uplifting, motivational shows, attend seminars, listen to CD's, do whatever it is that puts your mindset in a positive state. Spend 15-30 minutes everyday working on you and your attitude. You will be amazed at the impact this will have no only on your business but your life in general! The second part was education. Every day should be spent furthering your knowledge to attain your ultimate goal. You can spend $1000's on seminars, books, CD/DVD, mentorships or any other number of training programs and gain little. Don't get me wrong, there are some excellent programs out there, and a few that are owned, operated, and taught by local real estate investment successes. These people have built a large portfolio of investment properties and now spend some of their time teaching others through CD/DVD, online, or seminar training, which is great-learn from those who have achieved what you want to achieve! The catch-it costs money! Am I knocking Capitalism? Absolutely Not! My friends have all earned the right to charge for their experience and knowledge. It's only fair isn't it? You would too, if you spent 10-20 years building a successful venture. These training programs can range anywhere from a few $100 to several $1000's, depending on your level of interest.
